Uruguay has many virtuous performers of different instruments for very concrete and explainable reasons. Without getting into them we can affirm that both pianists and guitarists formed by this country get very often renowned international careers. In the case of the piano we could mention Hugo Balzo and Homero Francesc from the past while in the present both Elida Giancarelli and Raquel Boldorini are good examples of what has been said before. In regards to the guitar, Agustin Carlevaro’s prestige and Eduardo Fernandez’s current glory synthesize the existence of a Uruguayan School for the instrument.
